Haller Ruine
Monschau
The tower on the Rahmenberg above the Marktplatz belongs among the most striking points of the city. Above the trail through the “Half Moon” there is another view on the way upward and the Haller Ruin can be reached in just a few minutes.
The Haller is popularly known as a viewing point for the castle since the Rur Valley can be seen significantly better from there. From other sources, the outer ward for the protection of the Reichenstein Cloister can be seen. Additionally in a drawing from 1543, it is depicted as a roofed, imposing tower. Its stones were used for the repair of the castle in 1570.
