"Basaltkreuz" Ulmen
Ulmen
Experience Point No. 7 on the "Hexen, Henker & Halunken" trail leads downhill to the Basalt Cross, marking the final point of remembrance along the route. Here, at kilometer 6.5, the people of Ulmen commemorate the tragic story of a young shepherd. He was struck by lightning during a severe thunderstorm and lost his life here. A memorial stone, known as the "Stoffel Cross" after his last name, lies a bit off the path and silently tells the tale of this fate.
This spot invites you to reflect on the moving past before heading back to the present and the nature surrounding Ulmen. The trail continues past the idyllic Jungferweiher, with about 1.2 kilometers left to reach the starting point.
