The Beilsturm is located on a rock east of the marketplace in Neuerburg. It was built in the 16th century and is a part of the old city fortifications. Until the end of the 18th century, it served as the residence of the city's fire watch.
The Beilsturm can be accessed from the marketplace or from Beilsbachstraße. From the top, newly designed observation platform of the tower, one has a beautiful view over the medieval town center of Neuerburg.
In the north of the city, there are restored parts of the city fortifications from the 14th century.
