EifelRadSchleife 15 "Zum Gipfel des Rheinlands"
Hellenthal
The EifelRadSchleife starts in Hellenthal and initially follows the course of the Olef as far as Blumenthal. We then follow the Reifferscheider Bach stream to the village of the same name before continuing uphill through the small village of Wolfert to the panoramic heights. Over the watershed, the trail leads us through wooded areas and hilly landscapes near Berk and Frauenkron until we finally arrive in the Kylltal valley. Here we follow the Wilsam, a headwater of the Kyll, and reach the highest point of the tour at Udenbreth, the summit of the Rhineland at 693 m above sea level. A detour to the observation tower with its view of the Eifel is definitely worthwhile. After the effort of the climbs, the descent to Hellenthal along the Prether stream is a reward.
The uniform signposting system consists of red junction signs and information signs at all important junctions and crossroads, providing a perfect orientation system along the way.
