EifelRadSchleife 9 "Bruder-Klaus-Kapelle"
Satzvey
The cycle tour is particularly suitable for families with children thanks to its paved paths and mostly off-road route. The scenic route leads through the fields of the Eifel south of Euskirchen, passing several small villages, some of which are characterized by half-timbered houses. The gentle elevation profile and the few climbs make the tour pleasant for cyclists of all levels.
A special tip is to take a look at the events calendar at Satzvey Castle, where attractive programs such as the famous knights' festivals and markets take place throughout the year. The castle is located right on the edge of the trail, making it the perfect place to stop for a break. Wachendorf Castle with its beautifully landscaped avenue of trees and a rest area with a view of the picturesque castle is also a highlight on the EifelRadSchleife.
The absolute highlight, however, is the Bruder Klaus Chapel by renowned architect Peter Zumthor. The tent-shaped interior construction made of spruce trunks and the open roof allow a clear view of the sky and create a unique atmosphere. An absolute must for anyone who wants to enjoy the bike tour.
The uniform signage system consists of red junction signs and information signs at all important junctions and crossroads, providing a perfect orientation system along the way.
