Heiligkreuzkapelle Wittlich
Wittlich
The square Heiligkreuzkapelle, open on three sides, was built in 1712 by Conrad Wolff, a renowned master builder and stonemason from Wittlich. The curved dome of the chapel rests on the rear wall and two pillars which were placed on the surrounding parapet wall. Inside, a mighty predella, decorated with the representation of a lamentation in the Klausen style, rises above a high pedestal. Above it, a crucifixion group extends far into the roof truss.
