Hochkreuz
Thür
If you drive along the road "Thürer Straße" from Niedermendig to Thühr, at the height of an old lava flow, you will see a strikingly high building, open to the front, with a half-timbered gable and in which three large wooden crosses have been set up with a view to the east.
A wooden Jusus figure is attached to the middle cross.
This place is called the Thürer Hochkreuz.
The special thing about this place is hardly recognizable at first glance.
It is in the vicinity of the cross group. What is meant are the "judgment stones" that appear again and again in old sagas and legends.
The rather dark basalt blocks mark the place that was once the scene of the Mendiger High Court.
