temporarily CLOSED: Kronenburger See lake
Dahlem
closed due to less water while working on the technical machinery
The 27-hectare Kronenburger See lake offers facilities for sailors, surfers, anglers and swimmers.
The Kronenburger See lake recently began to offer a special attraction for young visitors: the first water rope garden in Germany.
Users will find several climbing elements here, which lie about 1 metre above the water level. Anyone who loses their balance falls into the water. Safety nets or rope protection are therefore not needed.
The water rope garden consists of an arrangement of various obstacles along a route, which require many different basic forms of movement in order to be crossed, such as climbing, moving hand over hand, balancing, holding, sliding and gliding.
Designated a recreational water body in 1973/77, the lake is also used as a rainwater retention basin for the floodwaters of the Kyll and Taubkyll rivers.
Extensive recreational area: beach with water play equipment, tennis courts, a boccia area, minigolf, children’s playgrounds, kiosk, cafeteria, campsite, youth campsite, water rope garden, beaver camp with self-catering houses, holiday park, boat rental, surfing and sailing school.
Parking costs €4.00 per day, per vehicle. A parking ticket should be purchased at the parking ticket machines.
