Kulturhaus theater 1
Bad Münstereifel
In the heart of the city of Bad Münstereifel, right next to the old collegiate church, stands the Kulturhaus theatre 1.
In the rooms of the boys' school built in 1890, the two actors from "theatre 1", Christiane Remmert and Jojo Ludwig, have realised their dream and created a centre for exclusive and high-quality culture. With their private money alone and without subsidies, the two have established the house as the first address for culture since its opening in October 2007, and not only for Münstereifel. The Kulturhaus has also made an excellent name for itself far beyond the borders of the Euskirchen district.
In addition to the two operators' own productions, guest performances by various, often international artists from the fields of concerts, readings, puppet theatre, dance, drama and cabaret are staged. In addition, there are changing exhibitions of painting, sculpture and photography.
The premises are also popular for private or business events, such as weddings, birthdays or company anniversaries, which are usually celebrated in conjunction with a theatre performance. The cultural programme is spread over two floors: on the ground floor there is the function room with 99 seats, on the ground floor there is a parquet hall which houses a dance studio on the one hand, and on the other hand seminars of the adult education centre as well as singing, dancing or meditation courses are held there on a regular basis. Another room, also on the first floor, offers possibilities for events on a smaller scale or for entertaining guests at private rentals.
All visitors (and also the press) agree that Münstereifel has a gem here that offers both a pleasant, lovingly designed atmosphere and a programme that is probably unique in the entire district.
