- Assistance dogs are allowed.
- The outdoor paths are not visually high in contrast or provided with tactile floor indicators.
- The main entrance at the street is visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering, but the side entrance from the train station is not.
- The house signage is designed in clearly legible, high-contrast font.
- The stairs at the main entrance are not designed with visual or tactile high-contrast edges. Handrails are present.
- All evaluated areas usable by the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
- In the exhibition, the essential paths are tactilely detectable, but there is no tactile guidance system with ground indicators.
- The visitor guidance system and the signage of the exhibits are designed in easily legible and high-contrast font and can be detected tactilely.
- Information is available in Braille.
- There are no guided tours offered for visually impaired and blind people.

- The National Park Gate Heimbach has no own parking spaces. Visitors can use the train station car park at a distance of 50 m.
- The side entrance from the train station is stepless (threshold 2 cm). The main entrance at the street can be reached via a ramp with a maximum gradient of 9 % over a length of 1.9 m and a width of 130 cm.
- The counter of the reception or the tourist information is 76 cm high at the lowest point. There is an alternative way of communication while sitting.
- All rooms and facilities that can be used by the guest are steplessly accessible.
- All passageways and doors are at least 90 cm wide.
- The exhibits and individual exhibition stations can be easily seen and operated while standing or sitting.
- There are no guided tours offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users.
Public toilet for people with disabilities
- The manoeuvring spaces are as follows:
to the right of the toilet 120 cm x 58 cm, on the left the toilet is not accessible;
in front of the toilet, washbasin and door 170 cm x 138 cm. - There are handles on both sides of the toilet, the right one can be folded up.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible and the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
- An alarm trigger is not present.
