Teufelsschlucht (Devil's Gorge) Nature Park Centre
Ernzen
With its Naturparkmuseum, tourist information point and bistro with forest terrace, the Naturparkzentrum Teufelsschlucht in the Naturpark Südeifel (Southern Eifel Nature Park) is the ideal starting point for tours through the rocky world around the Teufelsschlucht (Devil's Gorge).
The exhibition at the Naturparkmuseum provides information about the origins, history and special features of the rocky landscape. It focuses on the geology of the sandstone rock landscape and the archaeology of the region. A tour of the museum is part of the informative and entertaining Teufelsschlucht audio tour, which is included free of charge in the "Lauschtour App" for your own smartphone.
At the tourist information point, visitors can find out about the hiking routes through the Teufelsschlucht and the sights in the surrounding area.
The "Teufels Küche" bistro invites you to enjoy a snack or relax on the sun terrace. Groups can also book catering here.
For groups of all kinds - school classes or company outings, youth, family or hiking groups - the team of the Naturparkzentrum organises nature excursions, adventure and activity programmes.
Hiking routes: Three marked routes through the Teufelsschlucht of varying lengths start and end at the Naturparkzentrum: the Little and the Great Rundweg Teufelsschlucht (circular trail) as well as the Teuflische Acht (Devil's Eight), which connects the Teufelsschlucht and the Irreler Wasserfälle (Irrel Waterfalls) with the suspension bridge. The premium hiking trail "Felsenweg 6" of the NaturWanderPark delux is also named after the Teufelsschlucht, for which the Naturparkzentrum offers a rest stop and refreshments.
Haus der Jagd (House of Hunting): Attached to the Naturparkzentrum is the German Hunting Association's Haus der Jagd with exhibitions on the history of hunting since the Stone Age and local wild animal species.
Dinosaurs and more: There is a privately run apiary in the immediate vicinity of the Naturparkzentrum. And just a few steps away, the large Dinosaurierpark Teufelsschlucht invites you to travel back in time through prehistory. A day trip that combines a hike through the Teufelsschlucht with a stop at the Naturparkzentrum and a visit to the dinosaur park is not only recommended for families with children.
