Kyllburg Fruit Tree Trail
Kyllburg
A little paradise garden to (get to) know.
The Catholic parish of Kyllburg has established a fruit tree nature trail in the orchard of the old vicarage on the Stiftsberg. Older fruit trees that are worth preserving were given an expert pruning. Together with the newly planted fruit trees, extensive cultivation and care of the tree population will create a 2000 square metre orchard meadow. On clearly arranged boards the visitor of the educational trail receives detailed information about each tree and the special characteristics and use of the fruits. The fruit tree nature trail is a feast for the eyes at any time of the year and, together with the old vicarage, a beautiful example of the harmonious and regionally typical use of architecture and cultural landscape which is so characteristic of the Eifel. Orchard meadows are ideal places to discover nature with children and young people; they are not only for viewing, but also for enjoyment: healthy, untreated fruit straight from the tree, as juice, for jellies, for preserving and baking.
