Ölmühle Bertgen
Mertloch
Cold pressing preserves the valuable ingredients and the typical taste of the oilseeds. We prefer to source our raw materials regionally from organic farmers in the surrounding area. We are delighted that almost all of our oilseeds are now grown locally in the Westerwald and in the Eifel region around Lake Laach. We source other seeds from organic farmer friends with their own oil mills in Bavaria and Thuringia. This ensures that all seeds meet the high standards of the oil mill.
One small exception is our walnuts, about half of which we obtain from a certified organic orchard farm in Koblenz. The other half comes from friendly walnut tree owners in Koblenz and the surrounding area. Here, too, we ensure that the nuts meet our high standards - all kernels are carefully hand-picked before the oil is pressed.
Our oils are virgin, cold-pressed, untreated, vegan and of raw food quality. They are gently pressed in modern screw presses. The oilseeds are not treated or heated before pressing. After pressing, the oils are not filtered, but sedimented in stainless steel cans and then bottled by hand.
Manufactured quality in the finest artisan tradition. You can taste it.
