Old-timer Tractor Rides
Monschau
Tractor tour through the Eifel: Experience culture and nature up close.
There is hardly a more original and authentic way of discovering the Monschauer Land and the Rur Valley: travelers can explore the area quietly and decelerated with a vintage tractor. There are more than a dozen vintage tractors (tractor, hauler, bulldog) available for self-drivers. The historically interesting vehicles have an average speed of 12-15 km/h and, depending on the model, offer space for two or three people. The tours can be selected flexibly (25 to 75 km) and adapted to your own needs. A GPS navigation device sends you safely and relaxed through nature and leads you to the area's secret spots. You reach the impressive vantage points of the Eifel via idyllic farm roads and small side roads. At noon you stop off at the "Alte Molkerei" and taste the regional cuisine of the Eifel. Seasonal dishes made from asparagus, chanterelles and game bring you closer to the culture of the region. For dessert try the homemade cakes. After the increased drive you continue to the national park gate Höfen, where the interesting exhibition "Daffodil Rush and Forest Change" is housed. The oversized daffodils and the natural mixed deciduous forest are an experience for the senses. Acoustic, fragrant and tactile stations make the visit a special experience. Then you drive comfortably through the Rurtal nature reserve and cool your feet in the crystal-clear water of the Rur. The next and last stop is the milk filling station. Here you can stock up on fresh organic milk in bottles as well as regional sausage and cheese. Then you chug back to the starting point of the tour.
