Pulvermaar nature pool
Gillenfeld
One of the great natural beauties of the Volcanic Eifel is the Pulvermaar, embedded in a magnificent landscape, surrounded by beech forests - a natural monument of volcanic origin. As Germany's deepest maar, its crystal clear water invites you to swim, boat or fish. A handicapped accessible entrance to the Pulvermaar is available. The surrounding, well-kept sunbathing lawns offer bathers the opportunity to relax extensively after swimming in the Pulvermaar natural pool or one of the non-swimmer pools or after using the water slide. Playground equipment and a children's paddling pool offer fun for the little ones as well. In the cafeteria with outdoor terrace belonging to the outdoor pool, visitors and bathers can enjoy coffee, cake and various delicacies in a cozy atmosphere with a unique view of the Maar.
The use of watercraft of any kind, such as stand-up paddles (SUPs) or other floats, is unfortunately not permitted on the Daun Maars and the Pulvermaar by order of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the Vulkaneifel District. Exceptions are the municipality's own pedal boats and rowing boats. If you have any questions about this, please contact the Lower Nature Conservation Authority.
