Römervilla Blankenheim
Blankenheim
The villa of Blankenheim is one of the most considerable ground monuments from the Roman time in the Rhineland. Once it was a large Roman estate (villa rustica) with a luxurious main building and stables, barns, remises and accommodations for servants, that were arranged around a commodious farmyard. The first archeological studies took place in 1894.
The Roman villa of Blankenheim is yet the only known sample of a represented axial villa in the Rhineland.
