After two very successful exhibition days on the 3rd Advent weekend, the painting exhibition of the "City Archive" in the Schildgen commercial building, at Rondellplatz in Gerolstein, will remain open in the coming weeks on the scheduled dates.

The exhibition features paintings with Gerolstein or Eifel motifs. The paintings largely come from well-known "Eifel painters" of the Düsseldorf School of Painting, such as Fritz von Wille, Hans Richard von Volkmann, Wilhelm Degode, and the Bloos brothers, Richard and Willi.

For the additional opening days, the exhibition will be supplemented by some rarely shown paintings from the collection of the City or the Verbandsgemeinde Gerolstein.

In addition to the approximately 30 paintings, the volunteer staff will present further "treasures" from the City Archive, including an extensive collection of postcards with Gerolstein motifs and a part of the historical photo collection of the well-known photographer Fredy Lange.

The exhibition in the Schildgen commercial building is made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate from the "City Center Impulses" program.
