Rurufer cycle path in the Eifel National Park - hydropower ahead!
This cycle tour is a section on the RurUfer cycle path and leads as a day trip from Heimbach via Rurberg around the Rursee.
People have always been magically drawn to water. Water quenches thirst, refreshes, gives strength and can be used to generate energy. The Rursee, one of the largest reservoirs in Germany, has plenty of water to offer and the Rurufer cycle path leads past this invigorating water. Cyclists are in the middle of the Eifel National Park on their cycle tour, with a view of the sailors, stand-up paddlers and the ships of the Rursee fleet. The lake can be easily circumnavigated in one day, always accompanied by the water.
Sometimes the cyclists ride along the banks of the Rursee, then it's back through the forest. Picnic spots with a view of the lake invite you to take a relaxing break. The wind blows gently over the glistening water and there is a gentle ripple on the shore. It is easy to calm down and recharge your batteries, your eyes relax, the sun warms your face - a perfect day for a leisurely cycle tour.
Tip: Cyclists can shorten part of the route with the Rursee boat trip , as there are various stops along the cycle tour.
