The vineyard consists of limestone and dolomite stone layers of the Middle Devonian period. They originated from calcareous marine deposits in the area of a reef belt. The rocks of this layer sequence consist of big reef limestones, which are rich in fossils.

Helenenquelle im Gerolsteiner Kurpark

The Helenenquelle on the Kyll Cycle Path near Gerolstein Town Hall is a popular resting place for cyclists and hikers. The fresh mineral water comes from a depth of approx. 90 m and can be drunk free of charge from April-October from the brass tap. Here it is worth taking a break and the park is ideal for a small picnic in nature.

The small lime kiln was active until about 500 years after the World War II.

Unterburg Lissingen

The historic roots of this former water castle near the Kyll River date back far into the past.
