General information about the gallery at the Pi
The Galerie am Pi owes its creation to the draftsman, painter and sculptor Albrecht Klauer-Simonis (1918-2002), 1988 to the exhibition "Drawings 88" on the occasion of his 70th birthday. It emerged from the donation of a building by the Streiff company to the White Soaps symposium. The transformation of the workshop into a gallery - rustically furnished with a fireplace and self-laid end-timber floor, as well as hanging walls will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year.
The Weissenseifen symposium uses the rooms of the Galerie am Pi in four summer weeks for drawing lessons, concerts and as a lounge. On the weekend of the first Advent, an annual recurring exhibition of symposium participants, called "road salt for Advent", has been taking place for almost 35 years.
Alternating presentations of Albrecht Klauer-Simonis's life's work and other exhibitions can enrich a visit to the artists' settlement in the remaining weeks.
