Barrier-free circular hiking trail Irrhausen
Irrhausen
The Irsen Valley in the northern part of the Southern Eifel Nature Park is an ideal excursion destination with its species-rich flora and fauna. The starting point of the 1.4-kilometre-long, step-free comfort trail is the impressive "Valley of the Butterflies" near Irrhausen. Numerous different species of rare large butterflies live in the valley. If you follow the circular trail further, the Irrhausen reservoir soon comes into view.A special feature on the trail is certainly the partially covered bridge from which you can observe the fish ladder and often also dragonflies.
Along the path there are tables and benches for a picnic, specially designed for the Southern Eifel Nature Park. Armrests have been added to the benches, and the table is also wheelchair accessible.
The certification of the comfort trail according to the quality criteria "Travelling for All" took place in November 2020. The circular trail has been certified as "partially barrier-free for people with walking disabilities and partially barrier-free for wheelchair users".
Parking is available directly at the hikers' car park or at the campsite.
