Bitburger LandGang – SULMANA - Circular route around Sülm
Sülm
On this approx. 8 km long hike you can enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding villages as well as the peace and quiet on the forest paths.
Your hike begins near the church "St. Peter". Here a memorial stone reminds of the Eifel poet Bernhard Lemling, who came from the village Sülm then called "Sulmana".
and lived here from 1904 until his death in 1961. From him comes the hymn of the southern Eifel "Eifelland, wie bist du schön".
Look closely on your way along the forest and the brooks. Here you can still discover some springs that provided the water supply in the village.
An old washing place in the village still reminds you of this. Once back in the village, take another look at the beautifully renovated farmhouses.
Highlights along the way:
- Church of St. Peter
- Memorial stone to the Eifel poet Bernhard Lemling
- Old washing place
- War memorial chapel
