A child-friendly educational forest trail with descriptive information boards on flora and fauna through the old deciduous and coniferous stands of the Hüstert.
Starting from the "Hüstert" hiking car park in Blankenheimer Straße, or alternatively from the "Haus des Waldes" in Adenau, the | Eulenweg leads as a forest educational trail through the old deciduous and coniferous trees of the Hüstert. More than 20 different types of trees and shrubs are signposted along the way and explain the local flora and fauna. Passing copper beech, aspen and pine, for example, an approximately 40 m high Douglas fir with a circumference of over 3 meters impresses along the way. Clear information boards explain the life of bats in the forest and the animals and plants in a quarry along the way. They also show the construction of old charcoal piles and provide information about the importance of dead wood for the forest. Towards the end of the circular route, the refuge of the Adenau forestry office invites you to take a leisurely break. Shortly afterwards, a narrow path leads back to the starting point of the hike and passes the memorial stone of the Eifel forester Clemens-de-Lassaulx, who made a significant contribution to the magnificent tree population of the Eifel forest around Adenau.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the hiking car park "Hüstert" we follow the signposted hiking trail. As an alternative to the partly steeper nature trails, a parallel forest path offers a more comfortable option for walking.
The last stretch leads back to the starting point at the hiking car park via a narrow path.

Note: Since the last section of the path is not barrier-free, there is the option of an accompanying person picking up the walkers by car at the "Am Ackerbusch" entrance. This is located about 500m above the "Hüstert" car park and can be reached via the L10 (Blankenheimer Straße).
