EifelSpur Dahlemer Quellenpfad
Dahlem
The starting point of the "Eifelspur Dahlemer Quellenpfad" hiking trail is the municipality of Dahlem. The hiking trail is around 21 kilometers long and leads through a varied landscape, alternating between fields, meadows and deciduous forest. Small and large streams line the edge of the path. Once you arrive at Maria Frieden Abbey, you have a clear view of the wide fields around the convent. Nuns still live in the convent today according to strict rules. They make products such as oils for body care, as well as various herbal drinks.
The hiking tour also leads to another reservoir in the North Eifel, Lake Kronenburg. In the immediate vicinity, the castle village of Kronenburg with its fortified historic town center and picturesque half-timbered houses transports you into a world of its own. Today, a creative scene with art galleries and craft stores blends into this romantic atmosphere. During your hike, two Eifel vantage points offer special views of the Northern Eifel.
The circular walk is also easily accessible without a car thanks to the rail connection from Dahlem (Cologne - Trier railroad line (rail replacement service currently running)).
