The small but very beautiful circular trail through the Mayen mine field is the perfect idea for those interested in animals. The nature trail informs young and old about the world of bats. A great highlight is Shaft 700 - the home of the bats. With a bit of luck, you can watch a few of these animals sleeping here - because as we know, these small flying creatures are nocturnal.
You can also see the large open-cast mine along the way, which is bypassed. You can pick up some information along the way. There are 15 information steles, 3 large information boards, a reconstructed stone hut, 5 benches, 2 sun loungers and 2 large insect hotels.
So you can enjoy a nice day with plenty of opportunities to rest in the Mayener Grubenfeld.
