HeimatSpur Wacholder-Endert-Pfad
Alflen
Hiking with the best views
A hiking tour as varied as the ups and downs of life... the more than ten-kilometre-long, easy-to-walk Wacholder-Endert trail is particularly beautiful. Again and again, the volcanic mountains of the Eifel form the backdrop to the circular hike, which starts at the village square in Alflen. It also leads down into the secluded Wilde Endert valley and follows one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Germany. The rushing of the water is often the only sound, the nature seems untouched as if in a primeval forest.
A charming contrast to the gorge of the clear stream is the height of the Nassenberg with its vast juniper heath. The motto here is to pause, take a deep breath and enjoy the view of the Endert valley. Especially in late summer and early fall, the scent of blooming heathland is beguiling. The three-hour hike is perfectly rounded off with a stop at the Wilhelmshöhe hotel restaurant near Auderath with its park-like garden.
