Nettersheim
The dandelion adventure trail is perfect for a hike with children. The short hiking trail starts and ends at the Eifel Nature Center in Nettersheim. 6 kilometers long, the dandelion adventure trail offers plenty of things to discover at 20 stations: whether it's fossil hunting, animal observations, nature discovery games or history from Roman times. The hedgehog figure Olly is your travel companion on the trail, showing you the way and the places where you can get active yourself.
There are seven exercise stations to keep you active and fit on the dandelion adventure trail. The sports stations invite guests of all ages to join in and work off their energy.
The following exercise stations are available:
- Experience the pulse,
- Yoga at the Römerweiher,
- Letter workout,
- cones course,
- The Forest Olympics,
- Trust blindly
- Everything but walking.
The stations are equipped with plaques and boards on which you can scan a QR code, which leads to the "explanatory videos" on the YouTube page of the Eifel Nature Center.
For the little ones, there are adventure playgrounds with a ropeway, climbing tower and badger den; slightly older children can balance on beams or roam through the undergrowth on a path; Those keen to learn can find out about a fortification on the Roman road from Cologne to Trier; young explorers can search for fossils on a fallow field. Along the way, cozy spots invite you to enjoy a picnic. Or you can stop off at the restaurants in Nettersheim after the tour. The trail leads through the idyllic Urfttal valley with its natural meadow landscape and over mountain ranges with distant views.
The trail is also suitable for baby carriages. A leaflet is available at the Eifel Nature Center with a map, tips for games and activities. Toilets can also be found there.
