The 42 km long Säubrenner route is seamlessly marked as an Eifelsteig adventure loop. The 2-day hike with an overnight stay in Wittlich Stadt & Land is recommended.

The Säubrenner route is an interesting connection between the popular Eifelsteig long-distance hiking trail and the lively Säubrenner town of Wittlich. With a start and finish in Wittlich or in the Wittlicher Land region and an overnight stay, the tour is ideal as a short weekend hiking break and offers an exceptionally varied mix of nature and cultural enjoyment.
Highlights of the tour between the Moselle and Eifel are fascinating views, dreamy vineyard passages, idyllic forest paths, multifaceted landscape formations, historic mills, impressive churches and villas and imposing red sandstone cliffs.
With two daily stages of 22 and 20 km in length and an overnight stay in one of our hiker-friendly accommodations, the motto of the Eifelsteig "Where rock and water accompany you" can be experienced with body and soul.
The Säubrenner route can also be divided into two attractive circular tours via the connecting path from Dreis to Hupperath.
