Route description:
The hike starts at the village square in Baustert. Here you can also find out about the route and the individual stops on the large information board in the bus shelter. The route starts in Kirchstraße and passes the parish church of St. Maximin and the war memorial. From here, turn into Bruchweg, past the old Bausterter school and after a short while turn right again over a small bridge onto a forest path. Here the hike is now accompanied for a while by the babbling of the Mülbach stream until you reach the Baustert chapel. Here it is worth taking a look inside the building and a seating area invites you to linger. Continue on to the district of Berghausen and from here up a steep hill to Kobenborn. Up here you have a first panoramic view over Baustert. At the sports field you will reach Schulstraße and continue towards the golf course. If you have time and feel like it, you can make a stop here in the restaurant. Now the hiking trail changes from the road to the forest and continues to Brimingen. Passing meadows and fields, you will reach the centre of Brimingen and then continue in the direction of Hisel. Before you reach Hisel, turn left and walk a good distance between fields to Hiseler Straße in Baustert. From here, a short stretch along the district road awaits you before continuing to the left in the direction of Kreuzberg. Here, after the effort of the ascent, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over Baustert. Finally, the trail descends the Kreuzberg and the Eisenknapp, past two wayside crosses and the Brunnenstraße monument zone, before you reach the starting point again at the village square.
