Traumpfad Wacholderweg
Langscheid
High plateaus with sweeping panoramic views of the Eifel, forest passages with a cooling canopy of leaves over the heads of hikers, the babbling of streams and, of course, the typical juniper heath in the Wabelsberg and Büschberg nature reserves: the Traumpfad Wacholderweg has many highlights to offer. Especially from around mid-August, when the heath begins to bloom, you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the heathland. But it is also worth hiking the circular trail at other times of the year.
The ascents are rewarded with sweeping panoramic views of the wooded peaks of the Eastern Eifel. Again and again, the path leads through forest passages: the canopy of leaves invites you to bathe in the forest, so take a deep breath and treat your lungs to the good Eifel air!
The rest area at Büschberg in the middle of the heath is a great place for a picnic. A forest path then meanders downhill, follows a babbling brook and finally leads into the Nettetal valley. The path climbs a little again and before hikers reach the imposing beech forest, the path once again offers a view over the valley. After an eventful hike through the countryside, the juniper hut is a great place to stop for refreshments.
In August/September, the heather is in bloom and is a particularly beautiful natural spectacle.
