Wiesbachtalweg in Weiler / Eifel
Weiler
From its starting point at the parish church of St. Kastor in Weiler, the circular trail leads past the Waldhof settlement through the beautiful Wiesbach valley in the forest. From here, it continues past the Wiesbach mill to the district of Weiler-Niederelz, from where the trail leads slightly uphill back to Weiler.
The circular trail is approx. 8 km long and takes approx. 2.5 hours to complete.
The two circular hiking trails Karbachtalweg and Wiesbachtalweg - the one described here - can be easily combined with each other via the local hiking trail no. 3, which leads slightly uphill from the Karbachtalweg, parallel to the Karbach on the other side of the Karbachtalweg, and from the village of Weiler past the Weilerbach downhill into the Elztal.
This extends the walking time by approx. 45 minutes.
Please download the gpx track and the map of the trail in advance, as the signposting can be patchy in some areas.
For navigation using the gpx track, we recommend using the Rhineland-Palatinate Tour Planner app.
After downloading the app and clicking on the gpx track on this page, the correct route will automatically open in the app. By tapping on the three dots at the top right of the app display and confirming by clicking on the "Save offline" tab, you can navigate the route even without network reception.
Only stay on the marked paths.
Especially in the fall, be aware that leaves lying on the ground can hide bumps, roots, etc. on the path.
