Rugged rock formations, castles and towering rock towers as well as a gently undulating landscape with farmland and man-made river arms characterize this stage.

Just past Jülich with its fortifications, you pass through the Indeland, which is in the midst of structural change from open-cast lignite mining to a new landscape. It is worth making a detour to the Indemann, which offers an impressive panoramic view.

A fascinating landscape accompanies this stage: from the Rursee plateau, you cycle through the deep valley of the Rur to the former cloth-making town of Monschau.

In addition to the large, dammed water areas, the Eifel National Park is the defining theme of this stage. An area where man "lets nature be nature".

The town of Monschau with its picturesque town center still exudes the unique flair of a former cloth-making stronghold. You should definitely try the town's specialties: mustard, Printen and Dütchen.

For over a century, the Vennbahn was the iron link between Aachen and the north of Luxembourg. Today, it is one of the longest railroad cycle paths in Europe.

From Monschau, you cycle past the impressive Reichenstein viaduct and the German exclave "Ruitzhof" back into Belgian territory. Here you get a first impression of the unique high moorland landscape of the High Fens - which also gives the Vennbahn its name.

You shouldn't miss out on the deep-fried delight of the Belgians: the Belgian fritter. Available at one of the many "fritures". The last stall before crossing the German border again is of course also signposted from the cycle path.

The Eifel-Ardennes cycle path runs along a former railroad line that was built in imperial times. After an eventful geopolitical history, it is now a symbol of the close ties between the German-Belgian border region in the heart of Europe and also geographically connects the mountain plateau of the Ardennes with the Eifel. In addition to many contemporary witnesses of this railroad era, you will also discover different landscapes. Glide down into picturesque valleys or fly over mountain ranges with sweeping views.

Between St. Vith and Prüm, the route runs almost exclusively along former railroad lines.

From the "rough" Islek, a cross-border region in the border triangle of Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium, with mountain ranges of up to 570m and deep river valleys, through the Southern Eifel Nature Park to the "mild" Bitburger Gutland, with its sun-drenched, colorful orchards. The only hop-growing area in Rhineland-Palatinate is located near Holsthum. Andreas Dick is the only hop farmer in Rhineland-Palatinate to ensure that the hops grown there are used exclusively for the premium beers of the Bitburger brand.
