The grounds and gardens of Malberg Castle can be visited on the initiative of the Friends during the summer months (May 1 to October 30st) on Wednesdays and Sundays and holidays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
"Iron Garden" A beautiful French garden, the "Iron Garden" (1713/14), is located just behind the outer gate, opposite the brewery house from 1714. The gate that gives access to the garden was recently restored at great expense. Originally, the "Iron Garden" of Malberg Castle served two purposes. On the one hand, it served as a recreational garden, inviting visitors to take a stroll, and on the other hand, it was also cultivated as a kitchen garden. Vegetables and medicinal plants were grown here. In addition, the planted flower perennials served as floral decorations in the castle.
"Round Garden"
Around 1730, the construction of the retaining wall and massive embankments presented a garden to the new building. The so-called "Round Garden" is located on the southeast side of the palace complex and directly adjoins the magnificent outdoor terrace from the same period. The fountain in the center of the semicircular garden used to be in the dining room and was attached to the window pillar.
