Judith Hermann was born in Berlin in 1970. Her debut ‘Sommerhaus, später’ (1998) was extremely well received. This was followed in 2003 by the collection of stories ‘Nichts als Gespenster’. Some of these stories were adapted for the cinema in 2007. In 2009, ‘Alice’ was published, five stories that were internationally acclaimed. In 2014, Judith Hermann published her first novel ‘Aller Liebe Anfang’. This was followed in 2016 by the short stories ‘Lettipark’, which won the Danish Blixen Prize for short stories. Judith Hermann has been honoured with numerous prizes for her work, including the Kleist Prize and the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize. In spring 2021, the novel ‘Daheim’ was published, which was nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize and for which Judith Hermann was awarded the Bremen Literature Prize 2022. The author lives and writes in Berlin.
