Strohn
A thrilling journey of discovery into the world of volcanoes. Experience a day full of adventure and discoveries around the impressive volcanic landscape of Strohn!
Together we will start at the Vulkanhaus, where you will gain exciting insights into the history of the Eifel volcanoes. From there, our hike leads to the largest lava bomb in the world at the edge of Strohn – an impressive testament to the volcanic past of this region. You will be amazed at how this massive lava bomb was formed and what forces were at work here!
Next, we continue into the so-called "Strohner Schweiz," a picturesque landscape that originated from volcanic eruptions over the past millennia. Here we encounter an imposing lava wall that dramatically shows how lava once flowed from the earth. Afterwards, the path leads down to the Alf, an idyllic stream that winds through the fascinating volcanic landscape. Along a mighty basalt flow, we will finally hike to the Sprinker Maar, another highlight of this tour.
On the way back, a climb awaits us – but don't worry, the ascent is worth it! Because from above, you will have a unique view into the lava pit Wartgesberg. This geological window provides exciting insights into Earth’s history and shows how volcanic activities have changed over time. This tour is perfect for both small and large volcano fans who want to experience nature up close. In addition to fascinating geological insights, the varied route ensures an unforgettable nature experience for the whole family.
