Kinderritterfest auf Burg Satzvey
May 31, 2025 - Jun 1, 2025
Mechernich-Satzvey
Shoot a bow and arrow, try on a knight's armor, learn about medieval craftsmanship - on May 31 and June 1, 2025, children can immerse themselves in the exciting era of the Middle Ages at Satzvey Castle and become knights, damsels or squires themselves. The extensive grounds around the historic moated castle will be transformed into a world of times long past. In addition to numerous hands-on activities for children, there will be a medieval market and a large knights' camp. Music will be provided by the minstrels of Wildwuchs.
Medieval treasure hunt
Young knights can try their hand at various medieval disciplines on this special weekend at Satzvey Castle: archery, wearing authentic knight's armor, pulling a Viking boat or baking bread on a stick, taking part in a herb quiz or axe throwing. The children can try their hand at this exciting "scavenger hunt", which takes place throughout the castle grounds, and experience educational activities. Those who successfully complete ten stations will receive an award.
Medieval market and knights' camp
Numerous traders from various medieval guilds offer their wares at the large medieval and crafts market: Furs and garments, incense and jewelry as well as delicious food and many a refreshing drink attract young and old alike.
