Ecological mushroom hike

On a natural history hike we learn about mushrooms and their ecological importance for the natural balance.
Recommended minimum age 10 years. Please bring sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing.

"Burg Kerpen-Wacholderheide-Enzian-Runde" mit dem Eifelverein Gerolstein

The parking lot by the tennis courts in Kerpen is the starting point of the approximately 11 km long hike. The route passes by Kerpen Castle and through a meadow landscape to Niederehe. The return trip goes through Loogh back to Kerpen, where the fringed gentian can be admired. The fare from/to Gerolstein is 3 € per person. Please plan for your own backpack refreshments. We want to follow in the footsteps of these stone age people, visit their cave together and try to fathom the life of these first "Gerolsteiner". The program is suitable for children aged approx. 6 - 13 years accompanied by an adult. The way to it leads through a juniper heather near Pelm and depending on the season there is also a flora worth seeing and worth protecting.
