Michael Corde, born in Saarburg, began his clarinet lessons at the age of eleven with Alfred Bauer (Trier Municipal Orchestra), among others. He completed his studies at the Cologne University of Music with Prof Franz Klein and received lessons from Prof Hans Deinzer in Hanover. He has been principal clarinettist in the Trier Philharmonic Orchestra since 1991. Ayako Kayukawa, 1st violin, born in Kobe, Japan, studied at the Toho Gakuen College of Music in Tokyo. She took part in courses and festivals in the USA, Great Britain and Italy. After engagements in Valencia and Malmö, she has been principal 1st violin in the Trier Philharmonic Orchestra since 2014.
Seungjin Lee from South Korea studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Pierre Amoyal and Paul Roczek and at the Hochschule für Musik Saar with Hans Peter Hofmann and Tatevik Mokatsian. He has won numerous prizes, including first place at the Korea Senior Symphony Orchestra Competition and the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra Competition. He has been a member of the Trier Philharmonic Orchestra since 2018. Fernando Bencomo, born in Venezuela, initially studied in Caracas and continued his studies at the Mannheim University of Music. He has been principal viola of the Trier Philharmonic Orchestra since spring 2011. From 2015 to 2020, he was an assistant in Prof Hideko Kobayashi's viola class at the Mannheim University of Music.
Ursula Heckmann, violoncello, studied at the Cologne University of Music with Professor Claus Kanngiesser and received a DAAD scholarship from 1990-1992 to study with Zara Nelsova at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. Following her concert exam at the Cologne University of Music, she has been deputy solo cellist in the Trier Philharmonic Orchestra since 1993.
